Meta tags (4)
Title tag present & well-sizedVery important
Every crawled page should have a unique <title> between roughly 50-60 characters.
Fix: Add a unique, descriptive title (50-60 characters) to each page.
Meta description present & well-sizedVery important
A meta description (roughly 120-160 characters) helps control the snippet shown in search results.
Fix: Write a unique meta description per page, under ~160 characters.
Canonical tag present & self-referentialImportant
A canonical link tells search engines which URL is the authoritative version of a page.
Fix: Add a self-referential <link rel="canonical"> to every indexable page.
Open Graph / Twitter card tags presentLow importance
Open Graph and Twitter card tags control how links look when shared on social platforms.
Fix: Add og:title, og:description, og:image and twitter:card meta tags.
Page quality (2)
Sufficient content depthImportant
Pages with very little text tend to rank worse — aim for at least a few hundred words of genuine content.
Fix: Expand thin pages with useful, specific content for the reader.
No duplicate titles across sampled pagesImportant
Identical titles across multiple pages confuse search engines about which page to rank.
Fix: Give each page a distinct, specific title.

Single, clear H1 per pageVery important
Exactly one H1 per page gives both users and crawlers an unambiguous topic signal.
Fix: Ensure each page has exactly one H1 describing its main topic.
Clean heading hierarchyVery important
Headings should nest logically (H1 -> H2 -> H3) without skipping levels.
Fix: Reorder headings so levels are never skipped.
Images have alt textLow importance
Alt text helps search engines (and screen readers) understand image content.
Fix: Add descriptive alt attributes to content images.
Link structure (1)
No broken internal linksImportant
Internal links that 404 waste crawl budget and break navigation.
Fix: Fix or 301-redirect broken internal links to a valid destination.
Server config (4)
HTTPS enforcedVery important
HTTP requests should redirect to HTTPS.
Fix: Force HTTPS with a server-side redirect and enable HSTS.
Response compression enabledLow importance
Gzip/Brotli compression reduces transfer size and improves load time.
Fix: Enable gzip or brotli compression on the web server/CDN.
Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5sImportant
Google's "Good" Core Web Vitals threshold for LCP is 2.5 seconds.
Fix: Compress and correctly size the largest above-the-fold image; avoid render-blocking resources.
sitemap.xml reachable & validImportant
A valid sitemap helps search engines discover and prioritize pages.
Fix: Publish a valid sitemap.xml and reference it from robots.txt.
Indexability (3)
Page allowed for Googlebot in robots.txtVery important
Evaluated against the robots.txt "Googlebot" group (falling back to "*") — distinct from whether Seov's own crawler is allowed to fetch the page.
Fix: Remove the Disallow rule blocking Googlebot (or "*") from this page's path in robots.txt.
No unintended noindex directiveVery important
A <meta name="robots" content="noindex"> tag or X-Robots-Tag header excludes an otherwise-crawlable page from Google's index.
Fix: Remove the noindex directive from pages that should appear in search results.
No broken pages or redirect chains wasting crawl budgetImportant
4xx/5xx responses and multi-hop redirect chains encountered while crawling waste Googlebot's crawl budget instead of serving indexable content.
Fix: Fix broken internal links and collapse redirect chains to a single hop.
